Located on Marquam Hill overlooking the city of Portland Oregon, OHSU is a nationally prominent research university and Oregon’s only public academic health center. Founded in 1887, OHSU is home to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital as well as numerous research center and institutes. The Advanced Imaging Research Center boasts one of the strongest MRI magnets in the world; researchers at the Knight Cancer Institute were the first to demonstrate the success of molecularly targeted chemotherapies in cancer. Committed to education, OHSU offers programs for local teachers, high school students, as well as fellowship awards for undergraduate students to complete 10-week research programs culminating in a Summer Science Symposium.
